Meditative Art provides a relaxed, non-judgmental, online environment to unwind, renew and play using Poetry, Guided Visualization, and Art Materials.
The Goal
This is a group, not a class. The focus is on relaxation and centering through play using art materials. The goal is to explore your creativity and deepen your connection to yourself. It’s not about learning techniques, or having your art critiqued, or producing a finished piece of art.
It's the journey, not the destination!
The Process
The starting point for your drawing or painting will be guided visualizations, warm up exercises and the reading of a poem, all designed to help you connect with your creativity.
Your creative response might be prompted by an image in the visualization, or a word in the poem, but not necessarily. It could also emerge spontaneously from whatever happens to be going on for you in the moment.
If nothing is coming through, I am there to offer individual support.
After playing with colour and shape for ten or 15 minutes on your own, you come back to the group and, if you wish, share your experience. Sharing is encouraged but not required.
This process is usually repeated at least twice during each session.
